The Business Capability Partnership believes that networks can play an important role in the development of management and business capability. The Partnership is particularly interested in Learning Networks:
"Networks that facilitate management and business capability development through purposeful idea and information exchange between businesses".
All firms are embedded in networks through their interactions with suppliers, customers, competitors and a host of other individuals and organisations, but most of these networks have primarily a transactional or information-gathering focus. We want New Zealand firms to better understand the role learning networks can play in building capability.
In May 2006, we received a report into the number, operation and outcomes associated with learning networks in New Zealand. We are currently considering the action-orientated recommendations contained in the report, which aim to raise the quality and quantity of learning networks in New Zealand.
